Data Assets Marketplace
Impact
In two weeks, conceived, designed, prototyped, and pitched a future state vision of the existing platform.
Gained partnership buy-in, product team buy-in, and firm investment to develop the new future state vision.
Concept: Shopping
As I began looking at the existing platform and interviewing multiple stakeholders on the team, I realized that the most efficient and recognizable way to accomplish the goals of the team was to make this a shopping experience…
Data scientists and case teams needed to access data sets so they could use them to develop algorithms for use on cases and in products. But it was not easy to do this at scale internally because it was difficult to know whether a data set was useful, before fully accessing it or analyzing it, and it was hard to allow access without first charging them a lot or giving the data away for “free”.
So I designed a shopping experience that would operate much like any online retailer. The experience offered a 14-day trial of the chosen data assets with the option to purchase or cancel at the end of the trial period.
“I loved the way he worked on this with very little information to go on. We are going to have an outstanding V2. ”
Context & Challenge
I was brought in mid-project to help a team solve a few problems:
How might we monetize our data assets at scale?
How might we implement this new pricing structure into our existing data asset management platform?
Solution
How might we enable all case teams to leverage intellectual properties and external data assets—at scale—for use in casework and AI product development to dramatically increase both revenue and impact?
Context-Based Flows
While there weren’t very many personas using the application, the context they operated in could be very different depending on the stage of the project or their status as a user of the platform. I developed several flows that accounted for the change in context.
